Illinois Requirements for Funeral Directors/Embalmer License

The current Continuing Education (CE) Renewal period ends on May 31, 2007. Please note:

• All funeral director and embalmer licensees licensed prior to June 1, 2005 must have earned 24 hours total continuing education credit. 12 of those hours may be earned through home study.
• All funeral director licensees must have earned 12 hours total CE credit. 6 of those hours may be earned through home study.
• IFDA will mail transcripts of hours earned through IFDA to all Illinois licensees at the end of the renewal period. These transcripts do not show credit earned through any other institution.
