Joining the Illinois Funeral Director Association offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of passionate individuals who share a common goal of serving families while upholding the highest ethical standards in the funeral service profession. Membership brings numerous advantages, such as enriching your professional connections, accessing continuous educational resources, and fortifying your business skills. IFDA provides various membership options to ensure inclusivity. These membership options include:

Main Firm Membership

Firm membership is for currently licensed Illinois funeral directors and embalmers that own a funeral home. This membership includes varying levels based on the number of licensed funeral director and embalmer employees employed at the member firm.

Individual Non-Firm Membership

Individual membership is for currently licensed Illinois funeral directors and embalmers that do not own a funeral home. For this purpose, ownership interest is considered 10% or more of the funeral home business.

Licensed Intern Membership

This is a non-voting membership.

Intern membership is for currently licensed Illinois funeral director and embalmers interns. This category of membership can be held for no more than a period of two years. Intern members shall have the right to receive mailings and attend sponsored programs and events at IFDA member rates.

Student Membership

This is a non-voting membership.
 
The student membership applies to those currently enrolled full-time in a college of mortuary science accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. Student  members shall have the right to receive mailings and attend sponsored programs and events at IFDA member rates.

Associate Membership

This is a non-voting membership.
 
IFDA Associate Members are made up of the funeral service profession's suppliers, service providers, product manufacturers, and mortuary schools . They support the industry in many different capacities and are a vital component of the Association. If you are looking to become an IFDA Preferred Provider, you must first become an Associate Member.
