What is the IFDA Preferred Partner Program?

While IFDA Associate Members are made up of the funeral care profession's suppliers, service providers, and product manufacturers, IFDA Preferred Partners are Associate Members that have made special agreements with the Illinois Funeral Directors Association. A Preferred Partnership is a mutually beneficial relationship between IFDA and the Associate Member.

A Preferred Provider has established themselves as a reliable supplier of goods and services to funeral homes. As a Preferred Provider, they agree to offer their goods and/or services to our member firms at a discount and/or with other value-added services not available to non-member firms. In return, you receive prominent advertising on IFDA literature, the IFDA website, and special consideration during marketing or sponsorship opportunities.

There may be more than one Preferred Provider offering the same or similar products to our members at any given time. They agree to support association functions and publications. Their status is reviewed and renewed manually. You may view current Preferred Providers HERE.

What is the process to become an IFDA Preferred Provider?

  1. The first step to establishing Preferred Provider status is becoming an Associate Member.
  2. To begin the evaluation process, your company will need to submit a Preferred Provider Application. Also, feel free to submit any supporting documents, such as an informational flyer or brochure, if you would like it to be considered during the application process.
  3.  We will check over your application and make sure you didn't forget anything. Your application will then be forwarded onto the Chair of the Marketing, Membership, and Technology Task Force.
  4. The Marketing, Membership, and Technology Task Force will review the application and any additional submitted documents, then prepare and present a summary to the IFDA Board of Directors.
  5. During the next quarterly Board of Directors meeting, a final vote will be cast whether to approve Preferred Provider Applications.
  6. Upon approval by the Board of Directors, you will submit your preferred logo and summary of your company to be published on the IFDA website, and in the next monthly eNewsletter. If you'd like to be considered for a spotlight in the eNewsletter, we can arrange that as well.
